The fake conversations have to end.

Like many of you that work a 9–5 job, in healthcare, or in other sectors, we get asked this quite a lot.

Here is what we would like to say instead:

But do you care? Do you actually care how my weekend was?

The mental health crisis is rising yet there is still unnecessary lip service. I think it's more polite to not ask if you do not care to know the minute details.

Not Everyone Has the American Dream

For most average people, going to the mall with their kids on a Saturday is the highlight of a parent’s week. Nonetheless, there are many people who have trauma triggers when this question is asked, going through an ugly divorce or just afraid to talk about their situations in general. Why? Because when it's likely that someone would honestly answer your question by being honest; people like you would say

Wow… thats a lot!

I dont know what to say

Or just simply ignore the response.

So next time someone asks you how your weekend was either don't reply or ask them, “ Do you really want to know?”
